Ms R McMillan – Voice
With over 18 years’ experience as a qualified Performing Arts teacher, Rachel McMillan has worked with children, young people, and adults of all ages. Rachel is passionate about helping every student develop their unique voice through engaging, supportive, and personalised singing lessons.
Her teaching focuses on building strong vocal technique alongside confidence and musical expression, helping students develop healthy vocal habits and a deeper understanding of how their voice works. Whether students are singing for enjoyment, preparing for performances or auditions, or looking to build confidence, lessons are tailored to individual needs in a positive and encouraging environment.
Ms C Bostock – Cello & Double Bass

Claire Bostock studied at Trinity College of Music before completing her teacher training and settling in Suffolk.
She combines a busy teaching career with a varied performance schedule on both acoustic and electric cello.
Her recent work includes performances with wedding duo Duetto Arpeggione, string group The Blue Sky String Girls, touring production In The Dark, and candlelight concerts with Lumos, as well as appearances with electric string ensemble Storm Strings.
Claire also enjoys arranging music for her ensembles and collaborating with a range of recording artists.
Mr J Jermy – Trumpet, Trombone & French Horn
Mr Jermy is an Ipswich-born trumpeter who began on the cornet at age twelve before studying at the Colchester Institute School of Music with George Reynolds and Michael Clack. During his training, he performed widely in jazz groups, brass ensembles, and orchestras, and collaborated with composers including William Mathias and Alan Bullard.
He has performed with ensembles such as the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, Suffolk Youth Orchestra, and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, and is a founding member of the Anglian Brass Academy. Alongside performing, he is an experienced arranger and has worked with artists including Emily Barker and composer Harry Escott.
At County High, Mr Jermy plays a key role in the music department. He directs the Orchestra and Jazz Band, serves as Musical Director for the school production, and regularly accompanies students in concerts, supporting musical development across the school.
Mr P Robson – Saxophone & Clarinet
Phil Robson is an experienced woodwind teacher and performer with over 30 years of teaching flute, saxophone and clarinet. He holds Performer’s Diplomas from both the University of Huddersfield and Trinity College London.
Phil teaches flute, saxophone and clarinet both privately and in schools across Suffolk, working with students of all ages and abilities. He particularly enjoys helping young musicians develop confidence, musicality and a lifelong enjoyment of music, helped by an endless stream of ‘dad jokes’. Alongside his teaching, he has performed extensively throughout the region with ensembles including The Galaxy Big Band and the Kingston Jazz Trio.
Passionate about Performing Arts, Phil founded and directed LMA Stage School in Bury St Edmunds and has worked with young people throughout his career through instrumental teaching, performing arts projects and music technology courses. He is also the founder of Fish and Bell Studios, bringing valuable expertise in live sound for theatre, recording and music technology to his teaching.
Apart from collecting endless instruments, at the dismay of his family, Phil has a keen interest in martial arts, achieving his 1st Dan Black Belt in Karate and currently training in Muay Thai.
Ms F Seldis – Violin, Viola & Piano
Frankie Seldis began her musical education as a specialist student at Wells Cathedral School before continuing her studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music. Following her training, she established an extensive international performing career, touring widely and collaborating with a variety of orchestras across Europe and beyond.
While based in London, she performed with respected ensembles including the Manchester Camerata, Endymion Orchestra of St John’s (EOS) under Charles Hazlewood, and Aldeburgh Opera, among others. Alongside her performing work, Frankie developed a strong commitment to music education and has spent over 35 years teaching violin and piano, inspiring students of all ages and abilities.
Mr J Taylor – Drum Kit
Award-winning drummer Joe Taylor began his music career in North Wales, where he honed his craft from mentors such as local legends Nate Williams (Jamiroquai/Steve Winwood) and jazz drummer Andy Hay.
Since then he has performed with some of the UK’s finest musicians at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s performances with jazz-funk outfit Resolution 88 and soul supremo Myles Sanko. In 2024 Joe was the drummer for a Welsh language stage production of ‘Nia Ben Aur’ at the National Eisteddfod of Wales which was televised on both S4C and BBC.
In addition to performance experience Joe has taught music and drumming in schools and privately for over 15 years in both the private and public sector and continues to keep a full weekly roster of students.
Always looking to improve and develop musically, Joe has studied under world class drummers such as Pete Riley (Manfred Mann/Republica/Guthrie Govan) and Mike Sturgis (Bee Gees/A-Ha).
Mr K Younger – Guitar & Bass Guitar
Karl Younger is a professional musician and educator based in Sudbury, Suffolk, offering tuition in guitar, bass, and music theory. With a strong passion for music education, he holds Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS) and has taught extensively across Suffolk, Essex, and London, alongside maintaining a thriving private teaching practice from his purpose-built studio in Great Cornard.
As a performer, Karl is an active and experienced musician, regularly touring both across the UK and internationally. He performs with established theatre productions including Disco Inferno, Walk Like A Man, and ELO Encounter, and also appears annually in the Ipswich Regent pantomime. Alongside his performance career, Karl continues to support and inspire students of all ages and abilities through high-quality, engaging tuition.
Ms J Francis – Flute
Jennie Francis studied Music and History at the University of Leeds before completing her PGCE in Music at Homerton College, Cambridge. She taught at King Edward VI School from 1998 to 2012, before moving on to work as a PGCE music lecturer at the University of Cambridge.
Alongside her work in education, Jennie has extensive experience teaching flute both in schools and privately, working with students from beginners to advanced level. She is committed to supporting students’ musical interests and helping them develop a confident, expressive sound.
As a performer, Jennie plays in two local orchestras and is Musical Director of the Wattisham Military Wives Choir. She has also performed in folk groups and pit bands for local theatre productions.
